CATOWA APPOINTS WOMEN'S REP'

EMBRO, ON - June 1, 2003

At their executive committee meeting held today, CATOWA appointed Marcia Campbell a Metro Toronto police officer as Women’s Representative.

Ms. Campbell is currently in the marine unit with the Toronto force and is a member of the “Highlanders” tug-of-war club from that city.

Formerly from Petrolia Ontario, Ms. Campbell has had experience in water sports such as Rowing and Dragon Boat racing.

Prior to becoming a police officer, she with the Canadian Armed Forces in the 1st Hussers Armoured Regiment and as a member of the Governor General’s Horse Guard.

Ms. Campbell’s duties with CATOWA will be to represent the interests of women currently in the sport and to promote tug-of-war for women across Canada.
