CANADIAN LAW ENFORCEMENT
GAMES INCLUDE TUG-OF-WAR


BRAMPTON, ON - April 30, 2004

      On May 31st through June 5th, the City of Brampton will play host to the Canadian Law Enforcement Games.  Co-sponsored by the Ontario Law Enforcement Athletic Association, the Peel Police and the Ontario Correctional Institute, the games will offer a variety of team and individual sports including traditional events such as soccer, swimming and track as well as job specific challenges such as pistol, and service dog competitions.  A tug-of-war competition is also scheduled for Friday June 4th, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. at the Ontario Corrections Institute located at McLaughlin Road and Queen Street in Brampton, Ontario.

      Incorporated in the Province of Ontario in 1987, as a non profit organization, the Games, under different names, have been held annually since 1977.  This year's competitions  will be run at a variety of  locations throughout Brampton and will be open to firefighters, emergency personnel, correction officers, the military and police officers from all across Canada.
